79 protesters held

TIRUPUR: Seventy-nine members of the Adhi Thamilar Peravai were arrested by the Tirupur police on Saturday when they attempted to show black flags to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

They were demanding house site pattas and provision of electricity to residents of Anaimedu here. Revenue officials have been denying pattas saying it is private land and a case is pending in the court. — Staff Reporter
