New Vice-Chancellor for Kashmir University

Jammu: Riyaz Punjabi of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kashmir.

Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) S.K. Sinha appointed Professor Punjabi, who is a Professor at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Faculty of Social Sciences, Vice-Chancellor for three years.

He is also the Director, Centre for Peace Studies.

Professor Punjabi has edited a number of works on religious conflicts and identity.

He has visited and lectured at universities and research organisations in Australia, Africa and Europe.
