PCB to appoint a young vice-captain

Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Nasim Ashraf has made it clear that next month a young vice-captain would be appointed on a long-term basis keeping an eye on the future of Pakistan cricket.

Without mentioning any name, he said the governing body in its meeting on January 25 here would appoint the new vice-captain to support skipper Shoaib Malik.

“The idea is to groom someone for the future. Someone who can continue to play for the next few years and can become a good captain later on,” he said. — PTI
