Computer training course for poor students

Chittoor: The Lions Club International Chittoor branch will start computer training course for the poor students on the eve of New Years day said V. Chandra Sekhar Reddy, its president. Club anniversary was celebrated here on Sunday.

Addressing the meeting he said that the club has decided to intensify its service activities across the district. As part of this, various activities will be held in each mandal to help the poor.

Free mega medical camps were organised in the district during this year. At Penumur the medical camp was organised in association Gopalamma Memorial trust, in which 1500 persons were given treatment. Similarly a camp for chikungunya disease was held at Chittoor in which 2000 children were given tablets. Like wise a blood donation camp was conducted at Chittoor on the premises of PCR Degree college in which 350 persons donated blood that was handed over to the authorities in the government headquarters hospital to help the needy.

As many as 40 poor children were given dresses besides 10 tricycles to the physically-challenged persons. In addition to this a musical programme by blind persons was organised at Chittoor which attracted the people in large extent said V. Chandrasekhar Reddy.
