30 acres given away

Perambalur: With the distribution of 30 acres to 52 beneficiaries under the sixth phase on Sunday, the Perambalur district administration has so far distributed 3,264.96 acres worth Rs. 5.83 crore to 5,132 beneficiaries, Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology A. Raja said. Of this 570 beneficiaries constituted those who received 1,069.37 acres reclaimed at cost of Rs. 26.36 lakh, the Minister said, distributing documents for free land and house pattas to beneficiaries. Lifting the freeze on recruitment imposed by the previous regime, the Government could create 2.5 lakh jobs through filling vacancies over the past one-and-a-half years, he said.
