Making a point: Bharatiya Janshakti party president Uma Bharti addressing party workers in Bhopal on Sunday. BHOPAL: Addressing a party workers’ rally here on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janshakti president Uma Bharti was highly critical of the Bharatiya Janata Party and praised the AICC president Sonia Gandhi saying those in the BJP should learn to maintain decorum and decency from her. Ms. Bharti said she had opposed Ms. Gandhi when she had gone to Rashtrapati Bhawan to stake claim for the Prime Minister’s post. However, she now feels that the BJP leadership, both at the Centre and in the State, should learn basic etiquette from Ms. Gandhi. She further stated that the BJP leaders tend to lose patience very easily. ‘No return to BJP’Ms. Bharti dismissed talks about her return to BJP saying these were only rumours. Without naming any body, she said that a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh pracharak, who had explored this possibility, was told that the issue could be discussed only with the office bearers of her party. Ms. Bharti said that her party would be contesting the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan but not in Chhattisgarh since it lacked a support base in that State. In Chhattisgarh, the BJP has alienated the tribals and would not win more than 20 of the 90 Assembly seats in the next election, she added. Four special CMsThe Bharatiya Janshakti president said that four Chief Ministers would always be remembered for the special role they have played for the development of Madhya Pradesh. They are Ravishankar Shukla, Arjun Singh, V.K. Saklecha beside herself. Commenting on the prevailing situation in Pakistan, she said that terrorism was now boomeranging on that country and India alone could fight the menace of terrorism in that country.
