Thiruvananthapuram: The Janata Dal (S) has demanded fare stage at Kazhakkuttom for super fast and express bus services of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation. The Kazhakkuttom panchayat committee of the party, in a memorandum submitted to the government, had pointed that Kazhakkuttom was an important bus stop on the NH 47 between Thiruvananthapuram and Attingal. Hundreds of commuters proceeding to the Technopark, Sainik School, University Campus, Apparel Park, Film and Video park and the Food Corporation of India facility alight here, the memorandum said. Fare stage existed for express buses at Kazhakkuttom. Later, it was removed without any reason. Places which are less significant were sanctioned fare stage, it noted. In the absence of fare stage, commuters have to shelve out Rs.19, to reach Kazhakkuttom.
