TO DOUBLE EXPORTS: A girl preparing sugarcane to extract juice out of it at Angamally near Kochi. Sugar exports from the country, the world’s second largest producer of the sweetener, is likely to double at around 30 lakh tonnes in the ongoing season as it enjoys freight advantage over Brazil.
