Lucknow: An FIR has been registered against controversial independent MLA and former minister in the previous Samajwadi Party Government Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya for allegedly giving a false affidavit to procure arms licences from the State Capital. The First Information Report was registered late on Saturday night in which the MLA was charged of securing three arms licences by showing his Lucknow address and suppressing his Pratapgarh address, police said here on Sunday. In the probe conducted by Hazratganj police here, Raja Bhaiya was found guilty of providing false information to secure his arms licences. The independent MLA has stated in his affidavit that he was against him. Inquiry related to two weapons — a rifle and a single barrel gun — has been completed, they said, adding that probe was on regarding issuance of a pistol licence. Raja Bhaiya was booked under POTA during the previous BSP regime. — PTI
