Congress hails Antony

Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress on Sunday hailed Defence Minister A.K. Antony for his bold and path-breaking decision to take over of Kerala Hitech Industries (Keltec) by BrahMos Aerospace under his Ministry.

In a resolution here, the District Congress Committee said that Keltec had been threatened with closure when Mr. Antony as Chief Minister formally submitted a proposal for the Centre take over of the prestigious State undertaking.

He had also extended financial assistance to the company to prevent its closure.

The party congratulated Mr. Antony for taking a keen interest and showing the will to pursue the matter after taking over as the Defence Minister.
