Now e-payment facility at Delhi airport

DIAL ties up with Punjab National Bank

Would be of convenience to customs clearing agents and other stakeholders
Transaction is online and instantaneous via the bank’s net-banking site

NEW DELHI: In order to speed up transactions at the international cargo terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport here, Delhi International Airport (Private) Limited has tied up with Punjab National Bank to set up an e-payment facility there.

The new facility will be of convenience to customs clearing agents and other stakeholders for speedy processing of payments with less paperwork

“Under the new system, DIAL would be able to provide its trade partners (cargo clearing agencies) the facility to pay DIAL charges directly through their PNB account. The transaction is online and instantaneous via the bank’s net-banking site,” said a DIAL release.

“The provision of this facility was a major actionable point under the electronic commerce/electronic data interchange in air-cargo sector, a national programme on e-trade being monitored by the Prime Minister’s Office,” it added. The international cargo terminal was recently awarded the prestigious “e-Asia 2007 Award” on “Implementation of e- Commerce/Electronic Data Interchange in Air Cargo Sector” at an international convention held in Bangkok.
