VS and Ministers reach Sabarimala

Emergency operation theatre at the Sannidhanam to be inaugurated today



Official visit: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, along with Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy and other officials, climbing the Neelimala on the Pampa-Sannidhanam trekking path on Sunday.

Sabarimala: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, Devaswom Minister G. Sudhakaran, Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy and Transport Minister Mathew T. Thomas reached Sabarimala on Sunday evening to inaugurate an emergency operation theatre at the Sannidhanam on Monday morning.

The Chief Minister reached Pampa at 5 p.m. He proceeded to the Sannidhanam on foot along with the Health Minister at 5.40 p.m.

Special Officer K. Jayakumar, Raju Abram and K.C. Rajagopalan, both MLAs; Raju Narayanaswamy, District Collector; Dinesh Arora, National Rural Health Mission Director; K. Ananthagopan, CPI(M) district secretary, and a fully equipped medical team headed by District Medical Officer N.N. Murali accompanied the Chief Minister.

Mr. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the operation theatre at 7 a.m. on Monday. The Health Minister will preside over the function. Devaswom Minister will deliver the keynote address. Mr. Mathew T. Thomas; K. Francis George, MP, and Viswas Mehta, Health Secretary, among others, will address the function.
