Calendar featuring endangered species released

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Are you someone who is very fond of animals?

Here is a way to begin every month of the year with a rare species from different parts of the globe, which deserves your attention and care.

The various species

Greenpeace has brought out a calendar featuring endangered species in animals such as Tamarin monkeys of Brazil, Technicolor macaws of Peru, sperm whales of Caribbean, crested lizards of Borneo, elephants of Namibia, Adelie penguins of Antarctica and polar bears of Manitoba, for the year 2008.

Printed on oxygen-bleached, recycled paper, the colourful calendar costs “Rupees two a day”.

The money would go towards protecting the planet for all creatures, said a press release.

For further details on the calendar and modes of purchase, log on to http://www.greenpeace.org/india/goodies.
