‘Give importance to innovation’

Manipal: S. Ramakrishnan, Director General of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), said here on Sunday that more importance should be given to innovation in the country.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the valedictory function of the International Conference on Advances in Information and Communication Technologies (ICICOT – 07) organised by the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), a constituent of Manipal University.

Dr. Radhakrishnan said that although the country was emerging as a knowledge centre, it was lagging behind in the field of innovation and invention. “Innovation is a slow process,” he added.
