Two students killed in accidents

TAMBARAM: Two students were killed in accidents involving an express train and a suburban electric train in Pallavaram and Potheri on Saturday evening.
In the first accident that took place around 8 p.m., Mohanapriya (20) was killed on the spot after she was hit by Ananthapuri Express near the Pallavaram railway station. A resident of Zamin Pallavaram and third-year student of an engineering college near Kunrathur, she was crossing the track on her way back home from coaching classes, the police said.
About an hour later, Abhishek Kumar Singh (23) died when he fell off the compartment of a suburban electric train near Meenambakkam. Hailing from Kolkatta, Singh was a student of a private university near Tambaram and had just returned from home after holidays.
He had reached the Chennai Central and boarded the electric train at Park railway station. He was standing near the entrance in one of the coaches .
