Two jawans injured in Baramulla explosion
Srinagar: At least three persons, including two Army personnel, were wounded and several houses damaged in an explosion in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
An IED went off at Azadganj, some 55 km from here, wounding two Rashtriya Rifles jawans and a woman passer-by. Panic gripped the area after the explosion damaged nearby residential houses, a bank and an Army vehicle.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police (North Kashmir) B. Srinivas said about 12 kg of explosives might have been used in the blast. “It was a powerful explosion shattering windowpanes of a number of residential houses and a bank,” he said. — PTI
