Special prayers

KOCHI: Catholic churches across the State on Sunday held special prayers seeking an end to the anti-Christian violence in Orissa.

The Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council had asked the churches to hold prayer meetings and demonstrations to protest against the assaults on Christians and destruction of church institutions that started on the Christmas Eve. Silent demonstrations were organised by many parishes. Public meetings, inter-denominational campaigns, rallies will be held in many towns in the coming days, church functionaries said.
