THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sivagiri Madhom and its allied institutions should remain above all controversies, Union Minister for Non-Resident Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi has said. Inaugurating the 75th Sivagiri pilgrimage here on Sunday, Mr. Ravi said that there was nothing beyond the ideals of Sree Narayana Guru. Those associated with the Madhom should function amicably as advised by the Supreme Court. Litigations and disputes should be a thing of the past. Everyone should work unitedly and the Madhom, known for its traditional virtues, should stand like an illuminated tower of wisdom and worldly virtues. Mr. Ravi said there was considerable difference between Hindu religion and Hindutva. The proponents of Hindutva spread hatred and teach to loathe other religions. Religion should be a means for communion with God. It should not be used as a tool for propagating bigotry and seeking power. Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust (SNDST) president Swami Prakasananda presided over the function. Former president Swami Swaroopananda lighted the lamp. General secretary Swami Rithambarananda welcomed.
