Sadananda Gowda rules out dissidence in Karnataka BJP

Special Correspondent

‘State unit will adopt Gujarat development model if elected’

“Many leaders were busy with party work”

“All leaders will attend rally to be addressed by Rajnath Singh at Lingasugur”

GULBARGA: The president of the State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, MP, on Sunday said many senior leaders and former Ministers from the party could not participate in the Jana Jagruthi Yatra as they were busy with the party work in their respective districts.

Mr. Sadananda Gowda said no motive should be attached to the absence of some senior leaders during the yatra. There was no truth in the reports of dissidence in the party. All the leaders of the party would be present when BJP president Rajnath Singh would address a rally at Lingasugur in Raichur district on January 3, he said

They would attend a function in which former MP Vijay Sankeshwar would re-join the party on January 4, he said.

Mr. Sadananda Gowda said that the State unit would adopt the development model of Gujarat for transforming Karnataka into a model State in the country if voted to power.

He was confident that the constitution of an election committee by him would not lead to power struggle or controversy since it had been formed in consultation with all senior leaders of the party.

Mr. Sadananda Gowda said the party had not started the process of selecting candidates.

The Jana Jagruthi Yatra was being held to explain to the people the “betrayal” of faith by the Janata Dal (Secular) and the “failure” of the Congress.

By January-end, the process of selecting candidates for the coming elections would be completed.
