Seat-sharing formula opposed

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat, Karnataka, has opposed the seat-sharing formula for engineering seats as announced by the Government.

Parishat secretary Prabhudeva Kapagal has in a press statement here on Sunday said that the Government’s decision to continue with last year’s formula (55:45) was not proper. The parishat had opposed this even in the last year. He said the Government announced the formula unilaterally without consulting students.

As such, the Governor should intervene and fix the share at 70:30 (government:management).
