Action against untouchability

Chitradurga: To celebrate New Year in a unique and meaningful manner, the Murugharajendra Math has decided to hold several programmes throughout the year, Shivamurthy Murugharajendra Swamiji of the math has said.

Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, he said that from January to December, a special programme would be organised every month.

January would be marked as the month of eradication of untouchability, while February would be the month of elimination of superstitious beliefs.

Lectures

He said lectures and conventions would be organised for which experts from various fields would be invited.

Essay competitions

In this regard, several programmes such as essay competitions and debates would be organised in schools and colleges with the help of school authorities and non-government organisations, he said.

Based on requirements and interest evinced by the people , the programmes would be held in various other districts of the State, the swamiji added.
