Exhibition on train

KOCHI: The ‘Azadi Express’ exhibition will be held here from January 1 to 3. The exhibition train will arrive at Ernakulam Junction on January 1.

Organised as part of the 150th year celebrations of the first war of independence and 60th year of the Independence, the exhibition is wholly designed, developed and executed by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, said an official press release on Monday.

The train will be stationed at Platform number 5. No platform ticket or entry ticket is required to visit the exhibition. On January 1, the exhibition will be open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on January 2 and 3.

Colourful photographs, graphics, audio-visuals and sculptures will bring alive the Indian struggle for freedom. The exhibition is spread over 11 coaches. There will be a special section for freedom fighters of Kerala and also an additional coach for Khadi Gram Udyog Board.

The Azadi Express will cover 70 railway stations in the country during its eight-month-long journey. Over 300 volunteers of Nehru Yuvak Kendra and Gandhi Samithi are part of the train exhibition. The train will leave for Thiruvananthapuram for a four-day exhibition on January 4.
