Prohibitory orders under Sec. 30 in force

Staff Reporter

Kakinada: The district police have issued orders under Sec. 30 of the Indian Police Act prohibiting meetings, processions and assemblies to maintain law and order during the New Year celebrations.

The restrictions will be in vogue till the morning of January 2 throughout the district, according to Superintendent of Police B. Sreenivasulu.

He stated in a press release that none of the above activities could be undertaken without the permission of the police as long as the curbs were in place.

Information about any person or group of persons who might create trouble to others during the New Year celebrations should be brought to his notice for appropriate action, he said.
