GULBARGA: K. Vijaykumar of the zoology department of Gulbarga University has won the "Environmentalist of the year 2007" awarded by the National Environmental Science Academy. He was presented the award at the 20th annual conference of the academy at Jamia Hamdard University in New Delhi on December 27. Dr. Vijaykumar, won the E.P. Odum gold medal, instituted by S.K. University at Dhumka in Ranchi, Jharkhand, for his research in the field of environment and ecology. — Special Correspondent
