Greetings from President, Governor

HYDERABAD: President Pratibha Patil and Governor N. D. Tiwari have greeted people on the eve of New Year.

In a message, Ms. Patil, who is currently on her Southern sojourn at the Rashtrapati Nilayam here, said on Monday: “As the sun rises over 2008, may this New Year bring peace, prosperity and happiness to everyone. Let us all strive to work for the betterment of the nationand do our little bit in making the world a better place by helping the underprivileged and the needy.”

In his message, Mr. Tiwari called upon the people to pledge themselves to ensure that the benefits of growth accrue to all sections of society and to all regions. “We should pledge to build a harmonious societyin which people of all religions, culture and languages can live and grow together.”

TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu also greeted Telugu people within and outside the country.

In his message, he wished that 2008 would bring new hope and happiness to the people.
