DGP gets extension

CHENNAI: P. Rajendran, Director-General of Police (DGP) Tamil Nadu, has been given a three-month extension of service. A 1973 batch IPS officer, Mr. Rajendran took over as the DGP on August 31, 2007.

He was to retire on Monday.

Inspector General of Police, Welfare, Ashish Bhengra, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police, Civil Supplies CID in the place of M. Chidambarasamy, who retired on Monday.— Special Correspondent
