Lok Satta units as citizen’s centres

HYDERABAD: Lok Satta Party will convert at least 100 of its party units into citizen’s service centres in Janaury, according to the party president Jayaprakash Narayan. In a statement on Monday, Dr. Narayan said that his party had lived up to its promise of ushering in new political culture. He said the party was first in the country to publish its income and expenditure details and put them on its website, accept donations only by cheques and issue receipts.

It has held elections to office-bearers by secret ballot, appointed an independent election authority to oversee party elections.
