NEW DELHI: Air India is ringing in the new year with attractive offers to international and domestic passengers. For the first time after the newly merged airline came into being, passengers can look forward to three exciting offers. Under the “Touch 25” scheme, passengers flying 25 times between the six metros — Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bangalore — during January 1-March 31, 2008 will get a free return ticket for themselves of their nominee in the economy class to New York or London or Shanghai from Delhi or Mumbai. “Touch West” offerUnder the “Touch West” offer, three round trips between India and U.K./Europe/U.S. or Canada in the first or business class from January 1 to March 31, 2008 will entitle a passenger to a week’s unlimited travel in the business class in the domestic sector. Another marketing initiative pertains to the Rs. 999 offer, available from January 5 to 20, 2008, for early birds. Passengers booking their flight during this period in the listed sectors for travel from March 1 to April 15, 2008 can get a ticket for as low as Rs.999, taxes and levies being extra. The sectors include Delhi-Chennai, Delhi-Mumbai and Hyderabad-Kolkata. In the coming year, Air India looks forward to carrying further the synergies of merger, expanding its network and offering superior service to its clientele with the induction of 20 new aircraft, an airline spokesman said here on Monday.
