Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet expansion on the cards
Staff Reporter
Jammu: A Cabinet expansion is on the cards in Jammu and Kashmir in a week. This would probably be the last one before the 2008 Assembly elections. The Congress has decided to induct three more ministers in the government.
Well-placed sources told The Hindu that the Congress had done this to to give due representation to all the diverse groups in the State.
The party wants to induct a Dalit and a Sikh legislator besides giving representation to the districts which are unrepresented.
Out of the Dalit legislators, the former Minister, and Legislator, Mula Ram, is the front-runner while Arvinder Singh, MLC, is likely to be inducted too.
