BERLIN: German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned of persistent economic risks due to global factors, and vowed on Monday that the country would keep to its agenda of reforms to tackle unemployment. “Despite all our successes we may, under no circumstances, lay back,” Ms Merkel said, according to a prepared speech to be broadcast later on Monday. “The risks for our economy and our growth are too high, especially due to worldwide factors.”
The Chancellor also focused on family values in her speech, saying that under her government the family had “moved back to where it belongs: in the centre” of society, and that Germany would provide more day care options. — AP
