Bangalore: With a steaming cup of coffee in hand and an infectious smile, S. Sreesanth launched the Silly Point Café, located inside the Bat and Ball Inn, a home stay venture on Laurel Lane in Richmond Town. The fast bowler, now busy recovering from a shoulder injury, was part of a core team that included cricketer Robin Uthappa and former Ranji cricketer J.K. Mahendra, which conceptualised the Bat and Ball Inn with its four suites where the weary executive or the cricket-mad fan could spend some time, checking out the cricketing memorabilia besides tucking into cricket literature and sports DVDs. And now with the launch of a café, Sreesanth hopes that youngsters could hang out at a place that professes to be “different.” “I have to thank Mahendra sir for giving me the idea and this place is full of cricketing memorabilia which anyone, who loves the game, would enjoy. Not many are clued into the game’s history, for instance how many know about the Ranji Trophy’s roots? This is the place to be to know about the game’s past,” Sreesanth said. And then he plugged his new café with a line that made him so happy that he repeated it a few times. “This is a place where you could come in for breakfast and then perhaps leave after dinner,” Sreesanth said. Perhaps the public will decide on that.
