Bangalore: An unidentified woman aged around 50 was killed after she was knocked down by a car on Mysore Road flyover on Monday. The police said the accident occurred around 9.30 a.m. at the entrance of the flyover near Sirsi Circle. The body has been kept in the Victoria Hospital mortuary. The Central traffic police have seized the car and arrested the driver. FireTwo minor incidents of fire were reported late on Monday evening. While one was at Mir House, behind Bamboo Bazaar, the other was at the Infosys campus in Electronics City. Speaking to The Hindu, personnel at the Department of Fire and Emergency Services said that fire at both places was the result of short circuit. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot. SuicideAn elderly woman committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at her house in Viveknagar police station limits on Monday. The police said that around 12.45 a.m., Indrani (58) doused herself with kerosene and reportedly immolated herself even as she was loudly chanting Adi Shakti bhajans. Indrani and her elder sister were residents of 4th Cross, Ejipura. Body foundThe decomposed body of an unidentified man aged around 40 was found in a drain near the Vengaiah tank on Old Madras Road on Monday. The police suspect that he could have accidentally fallen into the drain or someone dumped his body there after murdering him elsewhere.
