CPI(M-L) to protest at Jantar Mantar

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist)-New Democracy will stage a protest “dharna” at Jantar Mantar here on Wednesday to mark the second anniversary of the police firing on anti-displacement protesters at Kalinga Nagar in Orissa.

According to CPI (ML) New Democracy, the police firing on January 2, 2006, in the State resulted in the death of several tribals. The day is being observed as Anti-Displacement Day and the protesters will be demanding the withdrawal of the special economic zone Act.
