Naik takes over as Air Vice-Chief

Air Marshal P.V. Naik
NEW DELHI: Air Marshal P. V. Naik on Tuesday took over as the Vice-Chief of the Air Staff at Air headquarters here. He was commissioned in the fighter stream of Air Force on June 21, 1969.
During his distinguished career of 38 years, he has flown all MiG-21 variants and MiG 23-BNs. He is a qualified flying instructor and a fighter combat leader.
Air Marshal Naik has commanded two bases – Air Force stations in Srinagar and Bidar. He also served as Senior Air Staff Officer at the Western Air Command and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Air Command before taking over as the Vice-Chief of Air Staff. He is a recipient of the Vishisht Seva Medal.
