Import duty on wheat flour scrapped

NEW DELHI: The Union Government has slashed the customs duty on wheat flour to nil, a move aimed at increasing the availability of the product in the domestic market. The move to scrap the duty was opposed by the flour millers, who said they were not consulted before taking the decision which would hurt the interest of the industry.
