Triple record
Visakhapatnam Port Trust created a record by unloading 11,025 MT of rock phosphate in a day on December 27, 2007. The bulk cargo was discharged from the vessel m.v. Piran. The cargo was imported by Coromandal Fertilisers. Bothra Shipping was the stevedore and Jyothi Shipping Agencies was the steamer agent.
The port created another national record by unloading 12,190 tonnes of LPG the same day. The cargo was discharged from vessel LPG C/Maharishi Bhardwaj. The cargo was imported by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. On December 30, 2007, the port reached another milestone by discharging 12,200 tonnes of Bentonite in a day from vessel m.v. Clipper Morning. The cargo was imported by Essar Steel.
