Aanandaa Festival from January 13

BANGALORE: The third edition of the Aanandaa Festival will be held from January 13 to January 19 at the Gayana Samaja on K.R. Road here.

The week-long festival includes Bharatanatyam performance by Janani Iyer on January 13; vocal concerts by R.K. Srikantan on the compositions of Mysore Vasudevachar and Nithyashree Mahadevan on the compositions of Syama Sastri on January 14.; a concert featuring seven composers, H.K. Venkataram on violin, Ashwin Anand on Veena, G. Ravikiran on flute, with Srimushnam Rajarao and H.S. Sudheendra on the mridangam, on January 15. On January 16, there will be a vocal concert by Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan on the compositions of Harikesanallur Muthaiah Bhagavathar. Saralaya Sisters will sing the compositions of Purandara Dasa on January 17. On January 18, there will be a vocal concert by Malladi Brothers featuring the compositions of Swati Tirunal.

The festival will conclude with Bharatanatyam ensemble by Mudrika Foundation presentation choreographed by Minal Prabhu with Ponnamma Devaiah, Ananth Nagaraj, Janani Iyer, Rohini and Supriya Patankar and a vocal concert by T.M. Krishna and Party on the last day.

The festival is being conducted by Aanandaa Foundation, an organisation promoting Indian classical performing arts, according to a newsletter from the Gayana Samaja.
