KASARAGOD: A nine-day music festival will begin at Kollur Mookambika Temple, Udupi, Karnataka, on Thursday, B.T. Jayaram, coordinator of the programme, said. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Jayaram said the festival would commence at 5.30 a.m. on January 3 with a recital by music students. The event will be inaugurated at Saraswathy Mandapam at the temple at 7 p.m. on January 3. The morning session will be for music students while the afternoon session will feature recitals by senior artistes. Yesudas to be honouredNoted singer K.J. Yesudas will be felicitated at a function on January 10. A music recital by Kanhangad Ramachandran will be held on January 10 evening. Sangeetha Kalanidihi T.K. Govinda Rao from Chennai will be the chief guest on January 11, the concluding day of the festival.
