Liquor sale up

KARUR: Liquor worth Rs. 75 lakh was sold on the last day of the past year in Karur district. There are 112 retail outlets of the TASMAC in Karur district through which liquor worth Rs. 10 crore is being sold a month. In January 2007, sales recorded Rs. 12.75 crore, it peaked in May at Rs. 14.50 crore. Liquor worth Rs. 140 crore would have been recorded during the last calendar year, according to TASMAC sources.
