Minister’s promises on free power

POLLACHI: The Tamil Nadu Government would consider extending free power supply to hut dwellers despite they get free colour television under the Government scheme, Arcot N. Veeraswami, Electricity Minister, said here on Sunday.

At present, the Government provides free electricity supply to hut dwellers to have one light. Speaking after laying foundation stone to construct electricity sub-station at Anamalai, Mr. Veeraswami said he would take up the matter with the Chief Minister. The Minister said that the duration of power cuts, due to the shortage of power, would be reduced soon.
