Banks urged to ground schemes

Chittoor: The District Collector S.S Rawat has asked the Bankers to open a special cell in their branches to monitor the sanction and grounding of Government sponsored schemes. District level review committee meeting of the bankers was held here on Wednesday. Chairing the meeting the Collector urged the bankers to ground all the sanctioned government sponsored schemes under SC, ST, BC, Indiramma Padakam, minority corporation, Indira kranti, Rajeev Yuva Sakthi and PMRY before 19th of this month.
He complemented the bankers for sanctioning Rs.200 crore to self help groups up to the end of December against the target of 320 cores and he directed them to achieve the balance of Rs. 120 crore in the months of January and February. As many as 24, 423 houses in the first phase and 11059 houses in the second phase under the urban individual housing schemes were sanctioned with a unit cost of Rs. 78,000 of which 35, 000 were government loan, Rs. 3,000 was subsidy, Rs.10, 000 margin money and Rs. 30,000 bank loan. He asked the officers to complete the construction of the houses within a period of 12 months. The Collector S. S. Rawat has asked the bankers to sanction bridge loan of Rs. 10, 000 to the beneficiaries of Indiramma Padakam.
