THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan said here on Wednesday that the Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) would examine whether norms had been violated in the organisational elections in the Thiruvananthapuram district conference of the party. The Chief Minister was replying to questions from the media after Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting. Mr. Achuthanandan said that party functionaries had the right to complain to the Polit Bureau if norms fixed by the Polit Bureau had been violated. “Some might have already done so. The Polit Bureau will examine and decide on the complaints. I am a member of the Polit Bureau.” The Chief Minister declined to comment on reports that he had kept away the party conference at Thrissur in protest against violation of norms in Thiruvananthapuram. “The reasons have been communicated to the concerned.” To another question, he said that he was suffering from joint pains on account of his trip to Sabarimala.
