Staff Reporter
PUDUKOTTAI: Fast Track Court judge P. Ayyasamy on Wednesday ordered the attachment of a bus belonging to the Pudukottai branch of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation for not paying the compensation, ordered by the court, to the family of a man killed in a road accident.
Execution petition
Dakshinamurthy, of Vellalapatti near Tirumayam, was killed in an accident in 2003. His wife Rajeswari, sons Senthilkumar, Kathirvel and daughter Sakuntala filed a petition in the Fast Track Court, which ordered a compensation of Rs. 2.50 lakh in 2003.
As the compensation was not paid, the petitioners filed an execution petition.
Higher compensation
In November 2006, the court ordered a higher compensation of Rs. 3,10.604 lakh, the interest included.
It was also not disbursed.
Mr. Ayyasamy ordered the attachment of a bus following an execution petition filed by the family.
Released on assurance
The court staff attached the bus, plying from Thuraiyur to Karaikudi, when it was parked at the new bus stand here and brought it to the court. However, following an assurance from the Corporation officials that the amount would be disbursed shortly, the bus was released.
