Dalai Lama in Mundgod

HUBLI: Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama was given a rousing welcome at the Tibetan Rehabilitation Centre at Mundgod in Uttar Kannada district on Wednesday.

Thousands of Buddhist monks and Tibetans gathered to welcome the spiritual leader.

Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Kannada district Munish Moudgil and Superintendent of Police Shivaprasad welcomed the Dalai Lama on behalf of the district administration.

The Dalai Lama will be staying in Mundagod till January 16. During his stay he will give discourses and lessons to Buddhist monks studying in various monasteries there.

He will inaugurate a prayer hall of the Loseling Monastery.
