TUMKUR: The police arrested three persons here on Wednesday on the charges of defrauding the public. The police said a group of investors in Manjunatha Finance and Investments, Sneha Chits and Manjunatha Sauhardha Pattina Sahakara Sangha (credit cooperative society) — all located on Mahatma Gandhi Road — had in a complaint alleged that the companies had cheated them. The police have registered a case against 10 persons, who have been named in the complaint as promoters of the companies. The names of the accused have been given as T.H. Manjunath, Srishyla Prasanna, T.M. Ravishankar, C.N. Lokesh, Srinivas, Venkataswamy, Anusuyamma, K.C. Rangaswamy, N.K. Siddaraju, and Siddaramaiah. All of them are said to be residents of Chickpet here. The police arrested T.M. Ravishankar, C.N. Lokesh and Srinivas. The other accused are absconding. A court remanded the arrested persons in judicial custody. The accused have applied for bail in a court .
