BANGALORE: The Reserve Bank of India conducted a State-wide essay competition in Kannada and English for school children, the prize-winners for which were announced on Tuesday.
In a ceremony held at RBI, Bangalore, the organisers gave away cash prizes worth Rs 10,000, Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 5,000 in the senior, middle and junior categories respectively in both languages.
The function was attended by K. Jairaj, Principal Secretary, Government of Karnataka, among other prominent personalities. Chetan A. Vernekar, Bhavya C and Dattaprasad R.G., won first prizes in the Kannada junior, middle and senior school categories.
Aniketh S., Dhanya Neelakanath Nayak and C.M. Nanjappa won first prizes in the English junior, middle and senior school categories.
