Pakistan politics

Benazir Bhutto’s sudden tragic death has dealt a serious blow to the democratic process in Pakistan with uncertainties reaching a peak. Unless all the democratic parties regroup themselves under an able and experienced leadership and fight to throw the military out, the sad state of affairs in Pakistan is bound to continue with the army and fundamentalists calling the shots.

K.R. Srinivasan,

Hyderabad

Terrorism that used to be construed as the desperate act of some misguided organisations and individuals has now turned into a sadistic trait of snuffing out lives en route to suicide by sick-minded individuals.

The pity is that such people are being used as dispensable tools by political mercenaries and self-styled terrorist organisations. Unless they are identified and wiped out by universal law, terrorism will continue to grow.

C.S. Sampath Kumaran,

Chennai
