Corrections and clarifications

In a volleyball report “TN stuns Kerala (“Sport”, January 1, 2008), Railways and Kerala women were playing a seventh-straight final, with Kerala winning only once (in Tamil Nadu in 2004) and Railways the other five on the previous six occasions. The reporter was right. (The report, in the fourteenth paragraph, had said: “The two have played in the final 17 times before and this will be seventh year in a row that the two will feature in the title clash. In the last six editions, Railways have won five times only losing in 2004 in Tamil Nadu.”)

In a football report “Arsenal regains top spot” (Early editions, “Sport”, December 31, 2007), the other scorers in Tottenham Hotspurs’ big win were Malbranque and Defoe. Their names were left out of the results column. The results column had said: “Tottenham 6 (Berbatov 7, 63, 73, 83) bt Reading 4 (Cisse 16, Ingimarsson 53, Kitson 69, 74).”
