Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Amidst the controversy over special economic zones (SEZs), Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat is arriving here on Wednesday to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and seek a review of the SEZ policy.

According to the AICC general secretary in-charge of Goa, B.K. Hariprasad, the Chief Minister informed the party that of the 15 applications received, seven SEZs had been recommended and three notified.

Mr. Kamat has ordered that all recommendations be put on hold till the policy was reviewed.

The Chief Minister heads the task force looking into the Special Economic Zones proposals in the face of a largescale public agitation.
