Kochi: The former Supreme Court Judge, V.R. Krishna Iyer, in a letter to Justice K.S. Radhakrishnan, says: “Today, the Kerala High Court and the State Bar are bidding you farewell in ceremonial terms and wishing you a fine future as the Chief Justice of the J&K High Court, Srinagar. It is a true tribute to you as a great judge that you are being appointed Chief Justice of a strategically significant State of India. I would add that there is a specially glorious dimension to your transfer from Kerala to Kashmir. “Hereafter I regard you as the judicial ambassador of the Kerala people to that marvellous State of J&K. Adi Sankara of Kalady travelled to Srinagar thus emphasizing the unity of Bharat. The cultural wonder of Advaita is the sublime message you will carry from Kerala to Kashmir. This Justice Journey of yours is thus unique and I am sure that the loving people of Jammu and Kashmir will receive and revere you affectionately as a great son of Kerala and a judicial patriot of India. May your career be a conquest of injustice paving your way to a loftier position as a brother on the Bench of the highest court in the country. Do remember that Indian humanity has an indivisible unity and our Constitution stands solemnly for a “Socialist, Secular, Democratic” Republic which will be your lodestar and supreme mandate for doing fearless justice.”
